Just soft light, cozy blankets, and real, honest moments. This recent in home session I did is a perfect example of what lifestyle newborn photography is all about. (We also got to include grandparents and the family dog!)

A Relaxed Session At Home

For this session, I arrived mid morning, at 10am, to take advantage of the soft light streaming into their living room. Baby was ready to go in the cutest little white two piece outfit, and Mom and Dad were in comfy clothes that felt like them. Some parents do opt for a more dressed up look for newborn photos, but for this session, feeling comfortable and relaxed was the perfect way to go!

They had a beautiful big window in their main living area, so we captured the majority of our session there! Some of my favourite shots came from the family cuddled on the couch, the dog sneaking in to say hi, and baby just laying peacfully in their bassinet (cue the cutest baby yawns ever!).

If you’re considering a lifestyle newborn session in Langley, the best time to book is during your second or early third trimester. We’ll pencil in your due date, and once baby arrives, we’ll pick a day within those first 2–3 weeks when everyone is settled(ish).
